Marlon Wayans took to social media to address comments that he made about the viral riverboat brawl in Montgomery, Alabama.
Wayans posted a clip of the incident, which showed three Black men confronting a group of white people on a boat, which led to a fistfight. He captioned the clip, "How ‘bout we NOT ‘try that in a small town'….Sh*t silly bro…." Wayans added, "Let’s all just be love NOT war."
Many people online felt that Wayans was condemning the Black men in the video, and he responded to the backlash on his Instagram page. Marlon called the criticism "stupid," and he added that he shouldn't even address it. Marlon then stated, "Black people know I love Black people. I'm Black."
