DJ Akademiks went viral for getting at Erykah Badu after someone commented on his live stream, asking Badu to "work your magic" against Akademiks.
Akademiks unleashed on Badu, stating, "Erykah Badu, let me tell you this: you keep my name out your mouth too. Listen, that little Everyday Struggle sh*t, that was another era, my n***a. I’m down to violate all you n***as these days. F*** what y’all got going on. You don’t mention my name, please. I don’t f*** with you neither."

On Wednesday (August 9), Badu went on Instagram Live to promote her "Biggest P*ssy Energy" incense, which led to her responding to Akademiks. She told viewers, "In honor of the biggest p*ssy in our culture, we're introducing this limited edition premium incense — cause he deserves it!"
She then addressed comparing Ak to Jerry the mouse on "Tom & Jerry," stating, "I learned something super valuable today. You have to really be careful what you think and what you say out here. I learned today that something I said five years ago in jest, when we all laughed, actually triggered someone’s really deep-rooted trauma."
