In December 2022, Tory Lanez (Daystar Peterson) was convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence at the Los Angeles Superior Court. Despite his efforts to assemble a new legal team, Tory has remained behind bars for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020 after Kylie Jenner's house party. On Tuesday, the Canadian rapper/singer was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Today, he released a statement on Instagram to his supporters, explaining his thought process in the courtroom and clarifying his previous apology while maintaining his innocence.
