Last month, Akon appeared on Drink Champs, and he wore a sweater that appeared to be from Dior. However, it was later revealed that the sweater said "DRIO," not "DIOR," which was pointed out by West Coast rapper Symba.
While recently riding around with French Montana, Akon responded to being asked about where he got the sweater. Akon then explained that he got it "from one of my Africans," and he added, "It just takes for one person to notice, and it’s gone’ go crazy on the internet. It sure did exactly what we wanted it to."
Akon commented on French's video, writing, " Promised my Africans I was going to represent for them with that DRIO 😂😂😂😂😂. Kept my word. Shouts to lil Senegal in Harlem. Walla Bok!!!!!"
