Ne-Yo revealed his experience joining the cast of BMF for its third season. Ne-Yo will portray a business-oriented pimp who assists Meech in money laundering. A role he had to audition for, Ne-Yo admitted to refusing preferential treatment based on his connections, instead focusing on merit alone. Alongside this, he discussed his acting technique, stressing the importance of genuine emotion over artificial portrayal. He also voiced his concern for those who become too consumed in their roles, referring to late actor Heath Ledger's intense method acting. Finally, Ne-Yo shared his excitement over working alongside the real 'Lil Meech,' a first-time actor who will portray his own father in the series. By exploring an unfamiliar character, Ne-Yo sees his move to BMF as both a challenge and a learning experience.
