Raymond Hicks was accused of trafficking 350 kilos of cocaine, but ultimately the jury acquitted him due to lack of evidence. This came at a significant expense for taxpayers, with Hicks estimating the figure at $2 million. Even after this, he faced harassment and further false charges, possibly due to a civil case he had filed against the police. Again though, Hicks was acquitted due to a clear lack of evidence. Despite these challenges, Hicks managed to make a positive contribution to his community, helping several individuals, including his mother and brother, earn their high school diplomas and GEDs.
