A mother and son in Escambia County, Florida, are being accused of plotting the murder of the man's ex, who is also the mother of his child, at a Home Depot on Friday (August 11).
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 50-year-old Sheila Agee on Monday night. Sheila is the mother of Keith Agee, who shot and killed 18-year-old Brooklyn Sims at the Home Depot. Two other people were injured in the incident.
The sheriff's office addressed the incident in a release, revealing that text messages show that Sheila helped her son coordinate the killing. The statement from the sheriff's office reads, "Investigators discovered that the mother of the suspect, Keith Agee, knew and even helped him coordinate the murder.
"According to text messages, it’s clear that Keith Agee’s mother, Sheila Agee, knew and participated in the plan to kill Brooklyn Sims. Additionally, text messages between mother and son highlight the mother’s involvement in helping locate the victim."
Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons also commented, stating, "The murder itself is unbelievable, but to know the mother knew about it and helped coordinate it is incomprehensible."
