"The Summer of Shannon Sharpe" appears to have reached a conclusion, with ESPN landing the hottest free agent in sports television. According to reports, the Hall of Fame tight end will join Stephen A. Smith at the debate desk twice a week just in time for the start of the NFL season. Meanwhile, over at FS1, Skip Bayless and the newly reconfigured Undisputed program will have to compete in a ratings war with the two men for whom he's primarily responsible for introducing to the sports debate show format. While both men have gone on record with gratitude about the role that Skip played in their careers on television, their pairing has the potential to provide viewers with star power and showmanship that could potentially be as entertaining as TNT's hit show Inside the NBA. Currently, there is no word whether or not the proprietor of Club Shay Shay will also bring his popular podcast to the "World Wide Leader in Sports."
