Although Oakland isn't as famous as Los Angeles regarding the influence of California cities in urban culture, the area's history includes the origin story of 2Pac, Mac Dre, Too $hort, the "Hyphy Movement," Ghost Riding, and more. Oakland is also primarily credited for originating slangs like "Hella," "Slaps," and "Yadadamean."
A comedic video recently went viral featuring an actress who's portraying an out-of-town girl that just moved to the Bay Area city that locals refer to as "The Town." As the video progresses, she quickly evolves into an Oakland native complete with the popular terminology and mannerisms.
