Heading into UFC 292 at TD Garden in Boston, "Suga" Sean O'Malley (17-1) was the underdog against the UFC Bantamweight Champion Alijamain Sterling (23-4). But that didn't deter O'Malley, who has knocked out nearly all his opponents since debuting in the UFC in 2018. The boisterous fighter with a vivid sense of fashion has garnered comparisons with Conor McGregor in recent years for his build, charisma, confidence, and outspokenness. Shortly after adding Alijamain Sterling to his long list of knocked-out opponents with a hard right to the jaw, O'Malley stated his ambition to set up a huge crossover fight much like Conor McGregor's boxing match against Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. That fight earned McGregor $130 million; a similar fight could potentially do the same for O'Malley if he secures a deal with the right opponent. During his post-fight interview, O'Malley was asked about his next opponent. Not only did the North Dakota native state that he'd like to box Gervonta "Tank" Davis (27-0), he casually said it as if Tank would end up getting KO'd like his other opponents.
“I also wouldn’t mind knocking out Gervonta Davis, and I know people are gonna go, ‘Ahh, you want to be Conor (McGregor),” O'Malley said. “I’m telling you, that fight is going to happen.
