On Monday (August 21), Sha’Carri Richardson won the 100m at the world track and field championships in 10.65 seconds, a world championship record and personal best for Richardson. Florence Griffith-Joyner still holds the record for 10.49 seconds. Sha'Carri is also the first American 100-meter world champion in six years.
This comes two years after Richardson's Olympic Trials 100m win was disqualified for a positive marijuana test. Sha'Carri missed last year’s world championships team due to an injury. You can check out her performance above
