According to reports, former United States president Donald Trump says he will turn himself in to Fulton County authorities in Georgia on Thursday. A judge previously set Trump's bond at $200,000. Trump made the announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social, and the development has caused a flurry of activity at the Fulton County Courthouse, with Trump's lawyers meeting with the District Attorney. Trump has been ordered not to threaten any of his 18 co-defendants or witnesses, both on social media and in person.
In addition to Trump, the bond has been set for four of his co-defendants, ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. It remains to be seen whether Trump will join his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, in seeking to have state charges dismissed by a federal judge. Meadows is claiming immunity under the Constitution's Supremacy Clause, arguing that states cannot interfere with the actions of federal executive officials.
Many legal experts believe that Trump will eventually take the same route as Meadows. As for now, all eyes are on Trump's surrender in Fulton County on Thursday.
