Part 2: Michael Blackson on The 1st Black Man to Swim to a Fight at Montgomery Brawl
--------
In his latest interview with VladTV, seven years since his last appearance, Michael Blackson discusses the journey from his breakout success in the movie "Next Friday" to his struggles in the comedy club circuit in LA. Tracing his trajectory, Blackson shared that at the peak of his popularity, he was charging $2,500 per gig. When his fame started dying down by 2004, he moved to LA to make a fresh start. However, work was scarce and he even moved back East. But everything changed in 2014 when he started doing a reality sitcom "Live with Funny," which helped him establish his footing once again. Furthermore, social media popularity provided a significant lift to Blackson's career. Presently, he is on a national tour, makes regular appearances in comedy clubs, and also divides his time to work on humanity projects in Africa.
