In the years following the untimely passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi, the Los Angeles Lakers' great has been honored in a multitude of ways. In 2022, the NBA unveiled a new All-Star MVP trophy in Kobe's honor. Yesterday, on "8.24," the team Kobe spent his entire 20-year career with announced that a new bronze statue crafted in his likeness will be presented to the public on February 8, 2024. The statue will be just outside of Crpyto.com Arena, in Star Plaza, amongst other figures that honor Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Chick Hearn, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and his former teammate, Shaquille O'Neal. The Golden State Warriors also paid tribute to the late Kobe Bryant with a touching message from Steph Curry (you can view that post here).

Before "Mamba Day" was over, a stop-motion animator named Jax Navarro uploaded a video that he created that depicted toy versions of a young Kobe Bryant (wearing jersey #8) going one-on-one against the older version of Kobe (wearing jersey #24) during the post-Shaq era in Los Angeles.

The video immediately went viral. Scroll up to watch!
