Reports surfaced noting that Miramar police are investigating a complaint issued by the lawyer of YNW Melly’s mother—Jaime King, against Mark Moretti, the lead detective in the YNW Melly case.
Melly’s lawyer, Stuart Adelstein, filed a motion with the lawyer requesting that the prosecution turn over all exculpatory evidence. Adelstein explained the reasoning behind filing the motion against the Miramar police officer, saying, “(The defense team) has recently learned that the lead detective, Detective M. Moretti, is under investigation and that an Assistant State Attorney has given a statement concerning an incident involving excessive force used by him against a potential witness in this case.” Stay tuned for more updates.
