Ice Cube and Common squashed their beef years ago, and now Cube has told a story of how Common once came to his aid when he and his DJ were in need ahead of his first big show outside of Los Angeles.
While speaking to ‘Fake Shore Drive,’ Cube told a story for a Chicago White Sox documentary about how Common helped him before their beef. “Love Chicago. My first show — my first big show outside of L.A. was at the Regal Theater in Chicago. We forgot our record. We forgot one of our records that we were performing,” said Cube. The rapper and actor continued, “Guess who took me to the record store to buy the record? I had to go buy our own record. It was Common.”
Cube explained that Common was opening for him, noting: “...We didn’t really know who he was and you know that’s just ya know one of those footnotes. Chicago has always welcomed us before the rest of the country. It was Chicago.” Watch above.
