Part 2: Albert Hughes: 2Pac was the Best S*** Talker Ever, That's Why "Hit 'Em Up" was So Good
--------
In a this VladTV interview, director Albert Hughes detailed his early life, career beginnings, and the origin of the title for the movie "Menace II Society." Albert, one half of the famed Hughes Brothers filmmaking duo, stated that despite popular belief, the movie title was not based on an Ice Cube lyric. Instead, the name came from an old short film he did in film school, which was inspired by M.C. Ren and CPO's "Ballad of a Menace.” He also revealed that their original title for the movie was "Rampage." He and his brother, having been passionate about filmmaking from an early age, had made several short films before venturing into the industry. Albert noted that despite socio-economic challenges and a complex relationship with their parents, it was a long-harbored dream to move from Detroit and establish careers in the film business in California.
