Ne-Yo denied the assumption, saying their song only played a part in teaching him how to spell 'independent.' On the other hand, Boosie felt that they didn't receive enough recognition for their influence, saying, "We don't get our flowers for a lot of stuff we do." He added that they ignited many trends online, such as flaunting wealth on social media. However, he expressed an understanding that such recognition often only comes posthumously.
