Fat Joe has collaborated with Nike to create a Terror Squad version of the Air Force 1, and he shared with The Breakfast Club that the designer of the sneaker was actually fired by Nike years ago. He found it ironic how we celebrate certain things years later, just like how schools were named after Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. after their deaths.
Interestingly, Fat Joe had a connection to the Air Force 1 even before collaborating with Nike. He had a designer from Nike making Air Force Ones for him without permission back in the day. This eventually caught the attention of designer Virgil Abloh, who told Fat Joe that he wanted to produce the Terror Squad Air Force 1.
It was while sharing his connection to Virgil that Fat Joe revealed that Virgil was the person who influenced Nike to make the Terror Squad Air Force 1 just days before his death. You can hear the full story above.
