Burna Boy recently sat down with Elliott Wilson and B.Dot on the "Rap Radar" podcast, where he detailed meeting J. Cole for the first time.
Burna explained that he ended up in the studio with J. Cole and some basketball players. After J. Cole heard his music, he told Burna Boy, "Bro, this n***a's 2Pac." Burna admitted that he "looked around to see who he was talking about," later realizing it was him. Burna Boy says J. Cole then doubled down, stating, "This n***a's 2Pac reincarnated in Africa."
This comes after J. Cole praised Burna Boy on "Thanks," rapping, "Cole and Burna, Shaq and Kobe/ Winnin’ a ring, then we gon’ repeat and three-peat/ Them nerds hate, they seat geeks/ They peepin’ us on the low, we like the cheat sheet."
