From infamous little leaguers like Danny Almonte to professional athletes such as Miguel Tejada, athletes (and their parents) being dishonest about their age to bypass guidelines in sports has been a long-debated topic that has garnered the involvement of parents of opposing players, coaches, and, in some cases, law enforcement. A very mature-looking youth football player recently went viral after he stated that he was only six years old to the person behind the camera before he flexed his muscles with a huge grin. The footage has once again sparked debates about the vetting process when it comes to verifying the age of children in youth sports. Because boys experience their growth spurts at different stages, a kid with an advantage in age range could seriously hurt someone that he is a few years older than.
