Beyoncé was previously hit with a tax bill of almost $3 million, with penalties added. Since then, the singer is fighting back against the bill, claiming it is not an accurate reflection of what she owes.

Despite the pushback, the IRS reportedly says no errors were made. Beyoncé filed a petition where she disputed the $2.7 million bill from the IRS, with the singer saying she was given a “Notice of Deficiency” in January 2023.

The singer claims the IRS asked for an additional $805,850 for taxes and $161,170 in penalties for 2018. Along with that, she noted the IRS wanted over $1.8 million in taxes and penalties for 2019, with the agency reportedly adding on interest until the debt is paid.

Beyoncé claimed that the penalties on her bills shouldn’t be allowed because the government didn’t allow her to claim millions of dollars in deductions. A lawyer for the IRS says the agency did not make a mistake and asked that the singer’s petition be denied. Stay tuned for more updates.
