Dominique Wilkins spoke about his unexpected trade from the Atlanta Hawks to the LA Clippers in 1994, attributing it to disagreements over payment. At the peak of his career and as a free agent, Wilkins claimed his move was prompted by the Hawks' reluctance to honor their financial commitments to him. He also exposed some controversial happenings during his time with the Clippers. Wilkins recalled numerous startling incidents involving then Clippers' owner Donald Sterling, including manipulation of player's game times to favor the opposing team's players and disruptive locker room visits. He also hinted at Sterling's alleged racism but refrained from commenting extensively. Despite the controversies, Wilkins didn't seem to regret the move, saying the NBA did the right thing by handling the Sterling situation decisively.
