Over the years, Schoolboy Q has always shared candid thoughts about the rap world and his place in the space of Hip-Hop. Recently, Q sat down with the BackOnFigg podcast and discussed why he doesn’t drop a new album every year.

Q went on to say he and his other labelmates view music as their life, not a sport. “We never looked at it as a sport. This is our life[…] It’s not a sport.” The ‘Blankface’ rapper continued saying, “Me talking about my momma’s trauma… You can’t compare that to a muthaf**ka who won an NBA championship.” He said, “When it comes to music, I don’t view it like ‘Oh you gotta drop every year!’.” The rapper said that people’s favorite rappers have to do that because they need money, but he doesn’t have to resort to it.
