A gender reveal in Mexico turned deadly on Saturday (September 2) after a pilot who was hired for the event crashed and died.
The incident took place in Sinaloa, Mexico, as family and friends gathered for a couple to see what gender they were expecting. As pink smoke billowed out of the plane, revealing that they were having a girl, the plane lost control, and one of its wings appeared to snap mid-air. The plane continued to spiral out of control, and eventually crashed.
Alan Francisco Rangel of the Sinaloa Red Cross spoke to CNN, revealing that paramedics treated the pilot at the scene in San Pedro, Navolato. The pilot was later taken to a local hospital, where he died.
