During the sit-down, Deal explained that Biggie didn’t respond to 2Pac’s scathing “Hit ‘em Up” diss track under the advice of Diddy. Deal explained that Diddy owned Biggie’s publishing and marketing, which meant that he had to listen to what the Bad Boy CEO said. Deal then spoke about Diddy buying a portion of Biggie’s publishing for $200,000 when Biggie was broke. Deal suspected that the deal was for a large percentage of the late legend’s publishing.
