Popular Mexican rapper Lefty SM was killed during an apparent home invasion on Saturday (September 2).

According to the Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office's preliminary investigation, the 31-year-old rapper, real name Juan Carlos Sauceda, was shot twice after three armed subjects tried to take him out of the home. Lefty SM was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. His wife was with him at the time of the incident, but she was unharmed.

Lefty SM amassed a large following after starting a YouTube page, where he promoted his music. He collaborated with various big names, including Neto Peña, GeraMX, Mc Davo, Toser One, Dharius, and Jamby El Favo.

Another collaborator, rising Texas rapper That Mexican OT, spoke out on Instagram after receiving criticism. He wrote, "I got people texting me rn for the first time ever .. talking about bro Lefty passed and sayin ima hoe cuz I ain't said nun. I don't gotta post nothing for God to kno I'm sending my strongest prayers and strongest angels to him and his family."

He continued, "Instead of textin me and tellin me how hard he was when he was alive they waitied [sic] to tell me he was dead . Get y'all's minds right dumb mfs. LLSM."
