The woman who was beaten by a crazed Bronx man at a subway station in Harlem, New York City spoke out from her hospital bed as she's recovering from the vicious assault. 

The woman who has been identified only as Laurel, said that being assaulted in that way made her feel as though her life didn't matter. She called her attacker, Norton Blake, an animal who doesn't deserve to walk freely. Laurel explained what happened leading up to the attack which lasted roughly 3 minutes.

The NYPD has taken a Bronx man named Norton Blake (43) into custody following a vicious attack on an elderly woman at an NYC subway station. The horrific incident took place around 3:00 a.m. on the southbound platform located at West 116th Street and Lenox Avenue. According to reports, the 60-year-old victim stood on the platform before Blake approached her, and a physical altercation ensued. After snatching away the victim's cane, Blake struck her down more than 50 times, causing welts and bruises. At one point, Blake hit his victim so hard that the cane he was using to strike her, broke. He also took off his belt and beat her with it. Shortly after the incident, Blake was arrested and charged with assault. Footage from the occurrence has since gone viral. More importantly, the elderly woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
