Gillie Da Kid tragically lost his son, YNG Cheese, to gun violence earlier this year, which he spoke about while on the Pivot podcast.
When asked about the arc of emotions after losing his son, Gillie spoke about the "worst" moment, when he had to prepare his son's body for his funeral. Gillie admitted that it was one of the hardest things to see his son's lifeless body lying there, but he added that he knew he "sent him off right" according to his Islamic faith.
Gillie then stated that while he thought he was a man before his son's funeral, given how he supports many people, he realized he wasn't a man. From there, Gillie thanked Freeway for standing by his side throughout the process, which you can hear in full above.
