Tekashi 6ix9ine sat down with Mike Ashabi on The True Life podcast, where he clarified his "Shaka Laka" collaboration with Kodak Black earlier this year.
Kodak drew criticism for collaborating with Tekashi, who has been openly shunned in the hip-hop world after cooperating in his federal case. Boosie was one of Kodak's biggest critics, even dissing him on a song called "Ungrateful," where he raps, "Everything that you rap, you ain’t never did that."
Now, Tekashi is clarifying claims that he paid Kodak $1 million for the collab, as he explained, "There’s a whole company called Fume, right? There’s whole videos, pictures, bank statements…like literally, there’s videos online of this company saying, ‘Listen, this is a collab song for our vapes,’ right?"
Tekashi added, "They’re holding a check, taking a picture with him. It’s everywhere, right, and they’re like, ‘Yo, 6ix9ine paid a million dollars for Kodak.’ No, it was their song, right? It was their song, they paid the million dollars."
