According to reports, Scientists have surmised that an asteroid about the size of the Empire State Building (with the potency of 22 atomic bombs) will come dangerously close to hitting planet Earth during 2135, which will affect the planet's gravitational pull and set up a collision on Sept. 24, 2182. The threat of "Bennu" hitting Earth has been discussed for over two decades. In fact, the large asteroid passes by Earth every six years. Thus, NASA has closely monitored the object's orbit in the Solar System. In 2016, NASA created an asteroid study program called "OSIRIS-REx," hoping to obtain a sample from "Bennu."  The government's national space program is also looking for ways of diverting a collision with "Bennu." Although the potential of the crash would be catastrophic, scientists do not believe it would wipe out the entire human race.
