A 42-year-old British tourist recently plummeted to his death during an attempt to make his way up a ladder bridge connected to Grosser Donnerkogel mountain near Salzburg, Austria. Advertised by Dachstein Tourism as the "ultimate adrenaline kick," the iconic 130 ft long ladder looms over a giant abyss and it became popular on social media in 2020 after a gymnast went viral for purposely hanging from the ladder with one hand. Sadly, the unnamed tourist lost his grip while suspended about 300 feet in the air before dropping below the via Ferrata. After law enforcement recovered his remains, they determined that foul play did not have a role in the tragic incident.
