Although Saturday's long-awaited matchup between Oregon (#9) and Colorado (#19) was slightly watered down due to the absence of Coach Prime's two-way star Travis Hunter, there was plenty of pregame hype from the moment the Colorado Buffaloes decided to stomp on Oregon's logo. Some pundits predicted that Colorado would get blown out in Eugene, Oregon, while others were so confident in Coach Prime's squad that they were already looking ahead to the following Saturday's dream match between the Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman hopeful Caleb Willaims of USC (#8). The showmanship of Coach Prime and his son Shedeuer appeared to get the attention of the opposing head coach (Dan Lanning) and middle linebacker (Jamal Hill). Coach Dan Lanning responded to the hype surrounding Coach Prime's team with a firey program speech about playing for wins rather than clicks. Meanwhile, after their 42-6 victory, the team's fifth-year starter, Jamal Hill, went viral with a photo of himself holding up his watch, which is a signature move that has been made popular by Shedeur Sanders in recent weeks.
