September 11th was meant to be a joyous occasion for a New York Jets team with legit Super Bowl aspirations for the first time since Rex Ryan coached the team to back-to-back AFC Championship game appearances in the early 2010s. Unfortunately, much like Rex Ryan's old Jets teams, the latest iteration also has quarterback issues that will likely keep them from competing for the Lombardi Trophy this year.

The Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers so they finally solved their woes at the quarterback position. But four plays into their Monday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills on September 11th, the future Hall of Famer tore his ACL. Since then, the team's backup quarterback, Zach Wilson, has regressed to his disparaging play of the previous season. At 1-2, the New York Jets currently have the worst-ranked offense in the NFL, scoring a meager 14 points per game while managing 225 yards per contest.

In the wake of the Jets' ongoing deficiency on the offensive side of the ball, Colin Kaepernick, a former NFL quarterback with the most rushing yards in a single postseason (261), recently reached out to Woody Johnson, the owner of the Jets, with an offer to add some depth to what has become their roster's least productive position. Although the 35-year-old has not played an NFL game since 2016, he couldn't be any worse than Zach Wilson, who currently has the lowest rating of all NFL quarterbacks (57.0). Colin Kaepernick wants to run the Jets' practice squad to help them prepare for the opposition on Sundays.

On Tuesday, J.Cole shared letter Colin Kaepernick's letter to Woody Johnson in its entirety on his Instagram page. The Charlotte-based rapper was given Kaepernick's blessing to do so.
