In a shocking incident in Summit Township, Jackson County, a Michigan State Police (MSP) Trooper was dragged behind a car after an altercation during a routine traffic stop. The suspect managed to get back into their vehicle while the trooper was attempting to take them into custody. The suspect then sped off with the trooper clinging onto the driver's side window for three quarters of a mile before the trooper finally fell off the vehicle. The trooper sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital but has since been released. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

The trooper initiated the traffic stop calmly, requesting the driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance. However, the situation quickly escalated when the trooper discovered the smell of marijuana in the car. Asking the suspect to step out of the vehicle, tensions rose as the suspect became defensive and uncooperative, leading to the unfortunate chain of events that followed.

The MSP Trooper was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention and thankfully sustained only minor injuries. The suspect, however, managed to escape the scene of the altercation. Authorities are actively investigating the incident and are working to apprehend the suspect responsible for this dangerous altercation.
