Charlamagne Tha God did not mince words when he opined on Colin Kaepernick's latest attempt to regain entry into the NFL.
Kaepernick and his team saw potential for him to offer his services to the New York Jets amid the injury to Aaron Rodgers and the dismal play of QB2 (the backup), Zach Wilson. A letter was sent to the Jets expressing Kaepernick's desire to help out the franchise by possibly leading its practice squad team. The letter was subsequently shared publicly by J. Cole at Kaepernick's permission.
The confluence of factors sent Charlamagne off to the point that he called Kaepernick's latest attempt to get back in the league as "downright pathetic."
"I wish that letter was never written. That letter was tragically sad and downright pathetic," said Charlamagne. "Colin Kaepernick has let his setback become his identity, and I hate that for him. God exalted Colin Kaepernick into a position of leadership in regard to activism, and it pains me to see that man still begging in the league that he called racist and compared to a plantation."
Charlamagne continued, "And I hate that he can never speak for himself. He always got somebody else speaking for him, or putting out his messaging for him. That's so wack to me. I wish Colin the best in all his endeavors, but just begging, you know, these same people you called racist for an opportunity is pitiful."
