Colorado State Patrol arrested two men, Tyleke Stokley, 28, from North Carolina, and Darvin Campbell, 55, from Alabama, for drug trafficking along Interstate 70. The arrest followed a traffic stop near milepost 27 in Fruita at around 3:30 a.m. The trooper, suspicious of criminal activity, requested consent to search the vehicle, which was declined.

Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained, leading to the discovery of 290 pounds of cocaine hidden in suitcases inside the Chrysler minivan. Stokley and Campbell were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 112 grams of cocaine. They were booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility. The trooper received assistance from deputies from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and Fruita Police Department during the operation.
