A week-long multi-agency undercover operation in Polk County, Florida, targeting human trafficking has resulted in 219 arrests. The Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) hailed it as the largest operation of its kind in the history of the office. Furthermore, the collaboration has enabled authorities to identify and rescue 20 human trafficking victims. These numbers highlight the urgent need to address the issue of human trafficking, particularly in Florida, which ranks third in the nation for reported cases.

The PCSO announced that during the seven-day operation, suspects accused of soliciting prostitutes, engaging in prostitution, and those profiting from or assisting in prostitution were apprehended. The arrests included individuals from different walks of life, with one shocking revelation being the involvement of a Polk County Public Schools teacher and coach. The Sheriff's Office has identified two suspects so far who have been charged with human trafficking, but they believe more charges may follow as victims come forward.

Partnerships between law enforcement agencies and organizations combatting  human trafficking have played a pivotal role in the operation's success. Organizations like One More Child accompanied deputies on undercover operations, aiding them in identifying potential victims and traffickers. Building relationships and trust were crucial to ensuring better outcomes for the victims. One More Child continues to provide support, mentorship, and essential services to victims long after their rescue.
