About two weeks ago, the CJNG (Jalisco New Generation Cartel) issued a very public warning to Peso Pluma, the most streamed recording artist in their native country of Mexico. Their stern statement was issued dramatically with a large banner hanging from a bridge in Tijuana.
"This goes to Peso Pluma, refrain from presenting yourself on October 14 because it will be your last show due to your disrespect and loose tongue, you show up and we are going to k*** you."
According to reports, the notice was the CJNG Cartel's response to Peso Pluma's songs about criminal activity involving Mexico's most famous druglords, El Chappo. Ultimately, Peso Pluma took the message seriously enough to cancel his upcoming shows in Mexico. Now, the CJNG reportedly has its sights set on another Regional Mexican act.
Fuerza Rediga, a band from San Bernardino, California, has been forced to cancel an upcoming show from their Otra Peda tour at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Mexico, because of alleged death threats from the CJNG. Much like the warning issued to Peso Pluma, the message for Fuerza Rediga was also displayed publically with a banner.
“We are going to f*** you up on October 6th in TJ, it will be the last performance of your f****ing life. Att. CJNG,” the sign read. “Perform and we will k*** you…Fuerza Regida did not want to do it the easy way.”
