Recently, a mother in Tulsa, Oklahoma, named Desiree Castaneda, pleaded guilty to letting her 12-year-old daughter give birth to a 24-year-old man’s baby.
Castaneda reportedly pleaded guilty to enabling child sexual abuse and child neglect. The mother was arrested in March 2022, according to reports. The young girl had the baby in June 2021, and according to Tulsa police spokesman Danny Bean, the father “walked in just like any other couple would, excited to deliver their newborn child.”
Upon arriving, Juan Miranda-Jara was bragging about becoming a father. Because of that, the hospital staff called 911 on the 24-year-old, and Jara was arrested and charged with first-degree rape. The 24-year-old was given 20 years in prison after being found guilty of first-degree rape in March 2022. Jara won’t be eligible for parole until he’s served 17 years.
Castenada was sentenced to 15 years in prison. After her sentence, the mother must register as a sex offender.
