Video shows how a Georgia State Patrol was forced to resort to a pit maneuver on a father who led them and Coweta County deputies on a high speed chase down I-85, with his son in the passenger seat. The driver, identified as Darius Davis of Morrow, was a wanted man according to the authorities. When deputies attempted to pull him over on Saturday, he sped away, reaching speeds of over 150 mph.
During the chase, law enforcement later discovered drugs and a weapon in Davis' car. They found 31 individually packaged bags of marijuana, each labeled with 3.5 grams, as well as 20 grams of shrooms. Shockingly, Davis' 21-year-old son, Mondre Areas of Noonan, was also in the car and witnessed the reckless driving firsthand.
According to witnesses, Davis was passing cars in the emergency lane on both sides of the interstate, displaying extremely reckless behavior throughout the chase. In a dramatic turn of events, a trooper performed a pit maneuver on Davis' car, causing it to crash into the wall at over 100 mph. Both Davis and his son could be seen crawling from the wreckage. Davis now faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime, fleeing and attempting to elude, speeding, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
