Lavar Ball discussed his plan of having his son, Lonzo, go into the NBA after a single year, known as "one and done." He spoke candidly about the audience reception, refuting claims that he was booed at the NBA draft in Brooklyn and sharing that he receives largely positive attention on the streets, despite what some media outlets may report. Discussing the selection of Lonzo as the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, Lavar voiced his confidence in his planning abilities. He also mentioned an unsubstantiated claim that the TV rights for the Lakers were threatened if they didn't secure Lonzo as a player. Lavar concluded by asserting that Lonzo would still be with the Lakers had Magic Johnson been the coach despite Kobe Bryant's retirement.
