Part 1: Albert Hughes on How They Came Up with the Title to "Menace II Society"

--------

Albert Hughes, co-director of the "Book of Eli," shared his experience of directing this movie. Hughes initially had reservations about directing Eli, a movie with strong religious undertones, due to his atheism. However, he decided to undertake the project after having a dream about it. The movie faced a series of challenges, including actors and writers' strikes and financial problems during production. The turning point came when Denzel Washington signed on for the lead role, backed by an independent financier who took the movie from Warner Bros. Working with Washington, whom Hughes described as "one of the smartest guys" he's ever dealt with in business, had its ups and downs. Although Hughes faced some difficulties on set, he commended Washington's professionalism.
