Yesterday, at the 2023 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, Simone Biles won her 20th medal with a dazzling floor routine. The performance by the seven-time Olympic gold medalist helped the United States women's national artistic gymnastics team secure its seventh straight world title. The United States women's national artistic gymnastics team has a winning tradition that has produced 19 medals and eight straight top-three finishes in the "All-Around Team" event since 1992.

Historically, their counterparts on the United States men's artistic gymnastics team have not enjoyed the same amount of success. The men's national team captured their only Olympic gold medal in 1994. However, their performance at the 2023 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, has given the supporters stateside a reason for optimism heading into next year's Olympic Games in Paris, France. 

With their hopes of medaling for the first time since 2014 hanging in the balance, the U.S. Men's Gymnastics team needed a stellar performance by Fred Richard, the third-youngest team member behind Vahe Petrosyan and Asher Hong. Richard responded to the clutch moment with an impressive high-bar routine that helped his team win a Bronze Medal. The crucial showing by the 2023 NCAA men's gymnastics all-around title holder after a previous mishap during the qualifications.
