During her heyday in the 2000s, Kat Von D was a tattoo artist for celebrities like Jeffree Star, Lady Gaga, and Dave Navarro. As the owner of Hollywood's most famous tattoo parlor (High Voltage) and star of her own reality series (LA Ink), Kat Von D's fame began to eclipse her noteworthy clientele. Back then, perhaps one of the most glaring aspects of her notoriety was her highly publicized devotion to Satanism and witchcraft.
A close friend of Marilyn Manson, Kan Von D's marriage to Rafael Reyes (aka Leafar Seyer) in 2018 was described as a “breathtaking goth wonderland” complete with upside-down crucifixes and more. Kat Von D met Reyes, a cholo goth singer, on the set of a music video for his album called "Baptism of Thieves." Four years after their extreme goth wedding, Kat Von D renounced witchcraft. Shortly after the spiritual reckoning, in the Fall of 2023, the Mexican-American tattoo artist took her walk of faith a step further by converting to Christianity.
