More updates in the YNW Melly trial saga have come about, as the rapper appeared in court on October 6 for another hearing.
The hearing was related to a motion filed by the rapper’s team in the alleged double murder case, asking for the Broward County State’s Attorney’s Office to be recused from prosecuting the rapper. Lawyers of Melly claim prosecutors withheld that detective Mark Moretti got Melly’s mom’s cell phone without getting a proper search warrant.
Upon entering the hearing and during the hearing, YNW Melly could be seen smiling. Reports note the rapper’s re-trial begins on October 16. Stay tuned for more updates.
