Reports surfaced noting that a Tiktok-famous Kansas police chief named Joel Justice Womochil traded incest videos through a secret Twitter account that got discovered during a search of his home office.
The news surfaced via an unsealed federal complaint. The complaint noted that 38-year-old Womochil’s account name was “@ictbaddad” and that the man had the “pedobear” cartoon as his profile picture. Womochil, who became a police chief for the town of Burns, Kansas, in 2022, described himself as a “38 w male looking 4 that special girl that was raised right and wants 2 continue the tradition.”
The former police chief’s Tiktok videos amassed up to 7,593 views regularly as he documented his day-to-day as a police officer.
The news of the former police chief’s alleged crimes arrived via a tip. Womochil resigned as police chief on August 8, 2023, saying, “It is in the best interest of me and this department that I make this decision.” Days later, Womochil would be arrested and charged with 13 counts of possessing child pornography.
Agents that searched Womochil’s home noted, “During the examination of the external hard drive, numerous images of child exploitation material were located,” and the man’s laptop allegedly had 851 thumbnail images and videos located on the hard drive that was seized. If convicted, Womochil could face decades in prison.
