Singer Johnny Gill candidly discussed his relationships and approach to dating, including his youthful crush on Janet Jackson. Gill admitted that he was never one to go out and assert himself, but rather, remained reserved, backing off immediately if his affections were not reciprocated. Recognizing that many opportunities may have been lost due to his shyness, the singer notes that his fear of rejection held him back. He also revealed details about his entry into the hit group New Edition. Gill hopped aboard the group amid some tension, as Bobby Brown was booted out and lead singer Ralph Tresvant was considering a solo career. Shockingly, Gill mentioned that when he joined the group, he was unaware of the internal issues they were facing at the time.
