People are flocking to liquor stores and other retailers to purchase tickets for the massive 1.55 billion-dollar Powerball jackpot. This is the fifth-largest jackpot in US Lotto history, and the excitement is palpable.
With no one able to match all six numbers, the jackpot has soared to an unprecedented 1.5 billion dollars. The previous record for the longest streak without a winner was set in 2021 and 2022, with 41 draws. The odds of winning the Powerball are quite slim, standing at almost 300 million to one. However, this has not stopped dedicated players from trying their luck.
In addition to the grand prize, a single ticket sold in the Bay Area matches five of the six winning numbers, entitling the lucky individual to a hefty 1.3 million dollars.
