Florida is known for its fair share of bizarre incidents, and this story is no exception. A 23-year-old man named Jacob Thompson has made headlines after allegedly stealing a car immediately after a job interview. Florida, often dubbed the home of eccentricity, has repeatedly provided fodder for headlines reinforcing its reputation. The incident involving Thompson highlights the delicate balance between ratchetness and righteousness that individuals must navigate in their lives.
On October 10th, a 23-year-old Florida man named Jacob Thompson found himself facing 12 charges after an unusual car theft. Thompson, who had gone to a Pilot Travel Center in Lake Wales for a job interview, was accused of stealing a vehicle from outside the business. According to reports from the Miami Herald, Thompson arrived at the interview only to be informed by the manager that nobody was available to conduct the interview. As he left the premises, Thompson noticed a white 2022 Cadillac XD4 SUV parked outside and saw an opportunity.
Unfortunately for Thompson, the vehicle was equipped with remote OnStar technology, enabling its every move to be tracked. Approximately 20 minutes later, OnStar was used to switch off the engine, leading to Thompson's arrest. A handgun was also recovered from the stolen vehicle during the investigation, resulting in additional charges.
